Hello!

Hopefully all of these cards made it to the recipients because I just had to share.  I had such a blast making these and I'm really happy with how they turned out.

The first one was an idea I found online on from PabloPanda's Etsy page.  I pretty much copied it, but I couldn't help myself I loved it so much!!  I printed the sentiment and popped the beard up on some black foam tape.
My next card was for my Father-in-Law.  I used an old stamp set from Hero Arts that I thought would fit him perfectly.

Can you see a theme here?  I then realized I should probably challenge myself a bit and see if I could come up with something masculine with some bold color.  I ink-blended a background and cut out the letters using my Silhouette.  The font is Cubano and it is available for purchase online, and I purchased it a long time ago.  I realized that it is the exact font used by Simon Says Stamp for their new DAD die, and I thought, hey I can make that with what I already have and I can make it any size I want.  So I came up with the following for my Dad.

Since I had the cut out panel from the card above I thought why not make another card so I just did some re-configuring and came up with this one for my Bro:

I have never been able to make this many cards for guys in my life so I was pretty impressed with myself :)  Hope you enjoy!

Feel Better!

Back again with another card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge Blog.  The Challenge I'm playing with today is the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 6 – Cheerful Get Well.

http://www.lawnfawnatics.com/challenges/lawn-fawnatics-challenge-6-cheerful-get-well

I recently purchased the Our Friendship Grows stamp set and I knew I had to use it for this challenge.   I have wanted this stamp set for such a long time the sunflowers are just beautiful and cheerful.

I paper pieced the flowers, leaves and the pot with Lawn Fawn paper and I ink blended the background using distress inks and Bristol Smooth paper.  I wasn't sure if I was going to like blending on this paper and I was wrong I LOVE blending on it!  I had to be careful not to fingerprint it up but other than that the inks blended beautifully.

I liked it so much I decided to use it on some Father's Day cards I just made yesterday and I even did some ink smushing and the paper stood up to the water.  I still love using watercolor paper but if you don't want to spend a ton of time blending I would recommend this cardstock.  Another great thing about it is it comes in larger sizes so I've also used it for card bases on multi layer folding cards, it is sturdy and is comparable to the Neenah Solar White 110 lb cover cardstock for weight.

Enough talking :) here is my card!

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

May all your DREAMS come true

Hey!

I have one more card for the Addicted to CAS: Callenge Blogs Challenge #109 - Rainbow.

Again I used Simon Says Stamp Fog card-stock as my base and I embossed some white paper with the We R Memory Keepers 3D embossing folder called Wave.

Cricut makes metallic vinyl so I put that on some card-stock and cut it out with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle die.  I stamped one of the unicorns from the Avery Elle Pegasus Duo, cut it out with a Lawn Fawn Stitched circle die and colored the image in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to get that lovely rainbow.

I used some other stamps in the set for the stars and colored them in with the Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen in Silver.  I also used Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen in Stardust and a Wink of Stella pen in Clear on the unicorn.  I couldn't help it that pretty unicorn needed some sparkle.

Finally I stamped my sentimate from the stamp set and heat embossed it with Wow! Metallic Brass.

Enjoy!

You're Simply The Best

Hello,

I decided to play along with the Addicted to CAS: Callenge Blogs Challenge #109 - Rainbow.

I used this wonderful paper from Heidi Swapp called Hello Today.  I pulled out this specific piece of paper well over a month ago and just couldn't decide what I was going to do with it.  When I was digging around getting ready for the challenge I came across it again and just had to use it.

I cut it out using Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Die and matted it on some Paper Source Pool Card-stock I cut out with Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Die.  I mounted all of this on a piece of Simon Says Stamp Fog Card-stock.

My sentiment is from the Avery Elle Handwritten Notes stamp set and I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

To finish it off I used some Nuvo drops in Bubblegum Blush.

I really love how this card came together and how well the colors all worked together from so many different sources.  I hope you enjoy!

Welcome Little One!

Hello!

I'm playing along with the Lawn Fawnatics 3rd challenge Outstanding Occasions.  I recently just had a little one of my own and man what a trip it has been so far.  It has made me love to make cards for everything baby and I had to make something special for this challenge.

I used Little Bundle stamp set, the Meadow Borders die and Watercolor Wishes paper from Lawn Fawn.  I used was Neenah Desert Storm for the card base and the patterned paper is Journey from Crate Paper.

The finished card is 4"x6" which is an odd size but I really loved how it turned out.  I had such a fun time making this card and I hope you enjoy it.

Welcome Baby Deer

It's been quite awhile since I last posted, I've been making cards I just haven't been posting them.  We have a new puppy, her name is Myka and she demands my attention a lot. :)  But I don't mind one bit, just look at that face!

I made this card and I have to say I'm pretty proud of it.  I finally figured out a way to make my own enamel dots and I'm really impressed with how they turned out.

I had a bunch of circles cut out of another project and the paper is textured shiny gold foil.  I couldn't throw it away so I thought I should cover them in Glossy Accents.......they take forever to dry but they turned out so well I'm going to try some other colors soon.

I'm playing along with Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge today for "Anything Goes."

I hope you like it!

Happy Birthday Robot Card 2

I made the following card for the Lawnscaping Texture Challenge.

 http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com.es/2014/08/lawnscaping-challenge-texture-sponsored.html

This little robot from the Beep Boop Birthday Stamp set was begging me to use him on a card and I had some great Basic Grey Mon Ami papers I wanted to play with.

My texture was made using one of the We R Memory Keepers Sequence embossing folders.  I've been using my embossing folders with letterpress paper lately.  It gives such a wonderful impression without the paper breaking.

Did you know that paper breaking is honestly one of my biggest pet peeves when embossing paper?  (Seriously it bugs me a bit too much :)) So letterpress paper is my new best friend lately, I've also found that watercolor paper works well too if you mist it before you emboss it.

Have a great day!

Hello Sweet Girl Card

I've got another new card for today, I have a friend who is having a baby very soon and I just wanted to make her a special card for the big day.

This is her first girl after three boys!  I know she is a little scared but I know she is excited too.

I followed a technique that Kristina Werner did on her blog a while ago.  She first used a stencil to put some color down on the card then covered it with Translucent Embossing Paste.  I tried it here and I really love how the effect turned out.

I cut my own stencil using my Silhouette.  I really like all of the dies and stencils on the market but when I need something I don't have the patience to run out to the store and find the "right one".  Also, where I live my stores might not have what I want so I make a lot of what I use on my cutting machine. :)

Enjoy!

Thinking of You Feather Card

I'm back again today to play along with another Retro Sketches challenge.  The following card is for Challenge #128.

I really like Basic Grey's Carte Postale papers but I have a hard time using them.  I tried again on this card and I have to say it is growing on me.  Thank goodness for a wonderful inspirational sketch!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Have an awesome weekend!
