Simon Says Stamp Presents a Patterned Paper Challenge Card 2

Ok just one more ;)

I made this card using some Memory Box papers.  I used one piece of paper from each of these three sets: Brioche, Pixie and Minuet.  I loved how they worked so well together and I just knew I would make another card for the Simon Says Stamp Presents a Patterned Paper Challenge over at Lily Pad Cards

Take a look:

I took this great blue patterned paper and stamped Hero Arts Blooming Meadow over the top of it using London Fog by Memento.  I then embossed the butterfly from HA Antique Engravings and sentiment from HA Say It All on two different patterned papers.  I distressed the butterfly a bit to make the edges pop and put it all together.

By the way I'm absolutely loving eksuccess's 1/16" foam squares.  They give a bit of dimension but don't make things too tall.  The best part is that cards still fit in their envelopes even with multiple layers.  Thanks for taking a look!

Simon Says Stamp Presents a Patterned Paper Challenge Card 1

I'm back!!!

I've finally found some creative juices and I've got them flowing for the new challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  The challenge I'm entering is the Simon Says Stamp Presents a Patterned Paper Challenge.  I've made two cards for this challenge and here is my first card:

I apologize about the lighting I took this picture at night, and here in ND it gets dark so early... I can't wait for summer! :)

I really wanted to push myself and use some great patterned papers.  I used SEI's Couture collection and made a pie SVG on Make-the-Cut.  I mixed and matched Couture's paper to create a wonderful mixed patterned circle.

I then did some stamping with Papertrey's Iconic Images and used Hero Arts Everyday Sayings for the sentiment.  I didn't quite have the right color purple ink so I used Memento Lilac Posies and then put Grape Jelly right over top before I stamped.

I'm really glad with the way it turned out and I wish you could see this card in person because the Couture papers are so shimmery and beautiful in the light.  Enjoy!

Virginia’s View – A New Challenge! at Lily Pad Cards

Lately I've been loving cards that are unique in size.  I know they are not fun to mail but sometimes I get a bit bored with the standard size and shape.  Today my card is 3"wide by 6" tall, I've been making a bunch of these because I took the time to figure out an envelope SVG to cut on my Gazelle and I want to make sure I use it.:)

I'm going to enter this card in the Virginia’s View – A New Challenge!  at Lily Pad Cards.  I also took my inspiration from Vicky please see her card here.  I loved the paper piecing idea she used and couldn't wait to try it out myself.

Take a look:

I used Out of Print by Basic Grey for the paper and I used the new Hero Arts Flying Air Ships.   I love these new stamps!  I've been into vintage cars, phones and bikes, now airships who knew?  Please enjoy!

It's Been Awhile

Hello!

It really has been too long since I last posted, but with the holidays and all I just didn't find the time to sit down and craft.  I've been playing around with one of my favorite paper packs lately.  Crate Paper's Portrait Collection.  I also wanted to use Iconic Images from Papertrey Ink and found some distress inks that worked really well with the paper.

Please take a look at my card:

I'm really loving the new photo tent I received in the mail today!  It helps with my pictures sooo much!  Thanks Mom!
