Happy Birthday Robot Card 2

I made the following card for the Lawnscaping Texture Challenge.

 http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com.es/2014/08/lawnscaping-challenge-texture-sponsored.html

This little robot from the Beep Boop Birthday Stamp set was begging me to use him on a card and I had some great Basic Grey Mon Ami papers I wanted to play with.

My texture was made using one of the We R Memory Keepers Sequence embossing folders.  I've been using my embossing folders with letterpress paper lately.  It gives such a wonderful impression without the paper breaking.

Did you know that paper breaking is honestly one of my biggest pet peeves when embossing paper?  (Seriously it bugs me a bit too much :)) So letterpress paper is my new best friend lately, I've also found that watercolor paper works well too if you mist it before you emboss it.

Have a great day!

Hello Sweet Girl Card

I've got another new card for today, I have a friend who is having a baby very soon and I just wanted to make her a special card for the big day.

This is her first girl after three boys!  I know she is a little scared but I know she is excited too.

I followed a technique that Kristina Werner did on her blog a while ago.  She first used a stencil to put some color down on the card then covered it with Translucent Embossing Paste.  I tried it here and I really love how the effect turned out.

I cut my own stencil using my Silhouette.  I really like all of the dies and stencils on the market but when I need something I don't have the patience to run out to the store and find the "right one".  Also, where I live my stores might not have what I want so I make a lot of what I use on my cutting machine. :)

Enjoy!

Thinking of You Feather Card

I'm back again today to play along with another Retro Sketches challenge.  The following card is for Challenge #128.

I really like Basic Grey's Carte Postale papers but I have a hard time using them.  I tried again on this card and I have to say it is growing on me.  Thank goodness for a wonderful inspirational sketch!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Have an awesome weekend!

Birthday Wishes Feather Card

I've found a new way to take pictures of my cards that doesn't take me forever to upload and edit, so hopefully I'll be able to post them on here more often.

I used Basic Gray's Persimmon paper in the next card, it is truly a beautiful paper collection and I've been using it a lot lately.  I've also been using letterpress paper with my embossing folders, it leaves such a great impression without any cracking.

Take a look:

Adore You Card

Hello to all of you reading this post!  It's been awhile since I posted but I bought a new paper pack and the Challenge #127 at Retro Sketches was calling for me to use it. :)

Since I make mostly cards I haven't bought a 12x12 paper pack in a long time.  I was walking thorough Hobby Lobby and the DCWV - The Quince Blossom Stack caught my eye.........I just had to have it.  There are so many lovely papers and I tried to use as many as I could on this card.

The sketch from Jeni Allen was so inspiring,

Plus the awesome paper it was just meant to be.

Love!

Hope you enjoy!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Bright Love You

Hello!

There are certain color combinations that are so in right now.  The inspiration picture over at the Paper Smooches SPARKS, Jan. 12-18 Picture Perfect Challenge is exactly what I'm talking about.

I have been in love with grey for over a year now, I painted my bathroom grey, a wall in my bedroom dark grey and I have a new grey loveseat and sofa (let me tell you it is sooooooo hard to find the perfect grey furniture in Fargo, ND)  I guess I'm a little a head of my time here........or I knew exactly what I wanted and wouldn't compromise :)

Anyway, check out this lovely inspiration photo, I'm absolutely loving the grey, white and yellow combo.

Here is my take on it:

I hope you enjoyed my creation, I just couldn't help playing along.  Especially when it involves one of my favorite colors.......wait for it...........GREY!

Have a sparkling day!
