Lucy's Lovely Lines - Lily Pad Cards Challenge
Hello again!
I've made a card for Lucy's Lovely Lines Challenge over at Lily Pad Cards. I recently picked up some Barefoot & Bliss paper by Bo Bunny and I really loved how masculine they are. I have a hard time making cards for guys and I was so inspired by these papers I had to make a masculine birthday card.

Bo Bunny also had this great idea to make these coordinating papers and I loved the orange so much I used it all over the card. Please enjoy!

Thank God for the kindness of strangers!
Hello!
Recently I had some problems with my leg and when I went in to see the doc they told me that I had a blood clot in it.... I went on a long car trip and didn't move enough (I will never do that again) not exactly what I wanted to hear. I have had trouble finding a good job (recent college grad and crappy economy = no job with benefits) and hence no health insurance so when they told me the medicine I needed was $1,100.00 for ten doses (I also had two refills) I literally freaked out.
Thank goodness I live in North Dakota where if people don't use their medication they can donate it to a pharmacy (if it is sealed in individual packages) and people like me can get it for free. The pharmacists at the clinic I went to helped me get in touch with Oliver and he helped me get the first seven doses. He didn't have any more doses available but I was so happy with my seven doses I didn't really focus on the fact I didn't have enough. Then something more amazing happened... on my way home Oliver called me and said he called around and found me more medicine and that I would just have to come pick it up! He was such a wonderful person I had to make him a thank you card. He was my silver lining on a really shitty cloudy day.
Here is what I sent him:
It's a lot like the Mother's Day card I sent my mom, but her idea for the sentiment made me want to make it.
Here is the inside:
Thank you mom for the wonderful idea and like I said before, thank God for wonderful people and their willingness to help!

Hero Arts Presents… A Digital Challenge with Shari Carroll!
Hello All!
One of my new favorite blogs is Lily Pad Cards they always have wonderful ideas available for inspiration and I missed out on the last Digital Challenge they hosted so I had to make a card for the new one. Shari Carroll designed the most wonderful files and I really wanted to make a movie themed card. I absolutely love movies and so does a friend of mine so I thought this card would be a good idea as a gift.
I decided to make a pop-up tent card using silver card stock. I used the filmstrip, the clapboard and the stars from Shari's set. I made the popcorn bucket a while back and I was so excited to use it with this card. To add more detail to the pieces I hand embossed the popcorn to give it texture, put glossy accents on the stars, added the diagonal white stripes to the clapboard and drew on it with a white gel pen to make it look realistic.
I secured the pop-up flap with some more popcorn on the inside. I then decided I needed tickets and everything I found in the stores near me had the store names on them so I made my own. I made the Admit One graphic in Make-the-Cut and printed it I then cut the tickets out using my Cricut. I cut a slit on the inside black piece to secure the tickets (when I give it away I will put real tickets in ;) even though the new ones are so ugly) and added the sentiment.
I really enjoyed making this card so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
