My Gathered Paper Flower

Ah what a beautiful day!

I just wanted to share some cards I made awhile ago using the same technique showed on Kristina Werner's Design Blog you can find the original post and video here

Ok now on to the cards!  I cut a standard A2 size card in half to come up with this sized card (pretty sure now that I look at the original post I got the idea from Kristina :) but they are such a great size!) and I used Basic Grey's Koshi paper to make the flower and  Basic Grey button.  The Hello sentiment (Stampendous - Happy Messages) and Leaves (Stampology - Mindy's Flowers) were embossed on the card with white embossing powder and I drew on the white dashed lines with a white gel pen.

For my next card I used some paper from Cosmo Cricket's Wanted 6x6 paper pack.  I used the same sentiment stamps and stamped the sentiment on with some brown ink and drew the stems with brown marker.  Since I used 6x6 inch paper for these flowers they are smaller, it is really neat that your paper length/width determines how big the flower is going to be so you can totally customize them.  To finish I added some sparkly buttons and some distress inking around the edges.  Please Enjoy!!

Lily Pad Cards: Globecraft Challenge

I decided to enter a challenge over at Lily Pad Cards.  They wanted a card with a frame employing 3-D foam for a framed 3-D result.  I made the frame out of black chipboard using Make-the-Cut and my Cricut.  I then adhered it to my card using dimensional foam.  I also cut the inner white piece and stamped my sentiment directly on it.  I used the same technique in creating the phone as I did before the only difference is that I used white chipboard instead of kraft.

It was hard to see the 3-D effect with this picture I took another one hopefully this one is better.
Supplies:
Patterned Paper:  K & Company - Black & Ivory Fusion
Cardstock:  Bazzil - Diamond
Chipboard:  Colorbok - Basic Board Pack
Stamps:  Hero Arts - Just Saying Hi & Everyday Sayings
Ink:  StazOn - Jet Black

Just Saying Hi!

Hello Again!

I really wanted to make a card using my Hero Arts "Just Saying Hi" stamps.  I also wanted to try to stamp them on chipboard cut out to match the stamp.

This is what I did: I stamped the image filled in the white spots with black permanent marker and then scanned the sillouette into my computer.  I then traced the image with Inkscape and made a SVG graphic which I then cut with Make-The-Cut and my Cricut.  I know a ton of work for just a chipboard embellishment but I figured I could use it again and again and I loved how it turned out once I stamped the image on it.  Please check out my card and I hope you enjoy!

Little Notepads & a Journal

I have been tinkering with little notepads that I found at an office supply store, I used Curio paper and pieces  from Basic Grey  my computer and my Cricut to create all of these:
It's kind of hard to see the words the first notepad has "thoughts & ideas" and the second has "take note".  I also used distressing ink to age the paper and pieces.
On the second notepad I also used We Are Memory Keepers Wide Eyelet  I loved the way the dark metal looked with the paper!
All of the words are in the font Gill Sans MT which is one of my favorite fonts lately.
I didn't put any wording on this notepad because I really liked the message on the Basic Grey "in my dreams..." piece.  It just worked so well the way it was.
I also found journal refills and thought why couldn't I recover that and make it my own journal?  I love the way it turned out!  I used the shape from one of the Basic Grey pieces and made my own on my Cricut.  I stamped the flowers with distressing ink in Walnut Stain and layered it with an eyelet.
I just wanted to post the journal along with the notepad so you could see the size difference.  The notepads are 3.25" by 4.5" and the Journal is 4.75" by 6.5".  I'm really glad I found those little notepads they will work so well for jotting down any thoughts I may have (I always seem to have tons of post-its floating around in my purse so this should help with that).  Thank you for taking a look and I hope you like them,  I do have more Curio paper so hopefully I'll have a couple more to share!
